Abstract

In October 2022, the Northeastern University Provost's office (in an initiative driven by Senior Vice Provost David Luzzi) installed motion sensors under the personal desks of researchers in 6 floors of lab space (including the Cybersecurity and Privacy Institute) silently in the middle of the night in the Interdisciplinary Science and Engineering Complex on the Northeastern Campus. This is the story of how those researchers (affectionately named "The Hotbed of Rebellion" by Luzzi himself) came together to have the sensors permanently removed within two weeks, and the things we learned along the way.
