Abstract

Visual and linguistic metaphors shape the way we understand and build with cryptographic systems. These can range from linguistic metaphors for primitives ("circuits", "sponges", "folding") and protocols ("shielding", "proof of innocence"), to visual metaphors (illustrations, diagramming, developer tooling). This workshop is an invitation to document the metaphors we use, re-examine how they inform our interactions, and imagine new and unfamiliar metaphors.
